Encouragement and Affirmation – The teacher consistently offers encouragement that causes the child to persist through more sight word cards.
Scaffolding – When the child has difficulty identifying a word, Ms. G offers hints, like preparing the mouth shape for the sound of the letter or helping with the first or second letter of a word.
Language Modeling
Repetition and Extension – Ms. G practices the sight words with the child by repeating each card.
Concept Development
Integration- This activity incorporates sight words that studetns have learned throughout the year.
