Video Descripton

This video shows an example of Co-opted Play. The 4K children are playing freely until Ms. A approaches and then starts to direct their play by asking questions. Ms. A engages the children in their unit of study about ocean animals by asking them to identify an octopus and the characteristics of the octopus. Using the toys available, Ms. A changes the children’ direction of play and increases their interest in the octopus.
